Director of Photography and cinematographer based in Tokyo, with over 20 years of experience in film and visual storytelling. My career began in publishing and book editing before moving into cinematography, giving me a strong foundation in storytelling, structure, and visual communication. Cinematic and documentary-style filmmaking form the backbone of my visual approach. I value naturalistic imagery, restrained camera work, and a Japanese sense of stillness and pacing, and bring these qualities to a wide range of projects—from brand films and advertising to documentaries and corporate content. I work across the production process—from visual concept and cinematography to camera operation, editing, and color grading—while my primary expertise is cinematography and DoP work. Over the course of my career, I have worked with brands and organizations including Dior, Van Cleef & Arpels, Sony, Panasonic, and Toyota. My work has also been recognized internationally, including as a CICLOPE Asia 2019 finalist. Based in Tokyo, I am available for projects in Japan and internationally.
