I’m Imaan Rafiq, a graduate Product Design Engineer (BSc Hons, Aston University) who enjoys building ambitious products that work in the real world. I combine high-fidelity SOLIDWORKS CAD with hands-on Design for Manufacture knowledge, including injection moulding constraints, GD&T, and BOM costing—so my concepts can actually be produced at scale. I’ve developed award-recognised smart-mobility technology through my James Dyson Award-recognised Smart Walker project, where I integrated LiDAR, ultrasonic sensing, IMU posture monitoring, and AI-assisted gait analysis using embedded ESP32-S3 electronics. I’m also comfortable working across engineering and operations—drawing on Toyota Production System, 5S/Kaizen, and structured project delivery—while communicating clearly with multidisciplinary teams to turn early research into functional, manufacturable prototypes.
