paper Apartment Renovation – Navigli District, Milan
Client: Private Client in partnership with Casaoo (real estate management agency) Location: Milan, Italy – Navigli District Area: ≅65 sqm Year: 2022 Status: Completed Mission: Deliver a rapid, cost-effective renovation tailored for short-term rental use, maximizing value within a compact urban apartment. Scope: Interior Design, Space Planning, Material Selection, Furniture Sourcing Located on the third floor of a building in Milan’s lively Navigli district, this 65 sqm apartment was intended for short-term rental. The brief required a full renovation that would transform the small space into a welcoming, functional, and stylish interior — with minimal budget and within a very tight timeframe. The challenge was to optimize every centimeter of the apartment, balancing durability and cost-efficiency with a sense of character that would resonate with international guests. Micro-scale apartments demand precision. With limited space and limited resources, even minor design choices can make or break the project. The gamble was whether we could deliver a rental-ready apartment that was both functional and aesthetically competitive in a saturated market like Milan, where design expectations are naturally high. Fineform Studio, in collaboration with Casaoo, redefined the apartment’s layout to unlock better flow and usability. Key interventions included: Spatial Redefinition: The entrance was opened up to create a seamless connection between the kitchen and living room, maximizing perceived space and natural light. Functional Zoning: A small filter corridor separates the social area from the private zone, where the single bedroom/study and bathroom are located. Material Selection: Herringbone wooden flooring adds warmth and sophistication, while spatula-effect painted walls provide subtle texture and depth. Furniture Strategy: A curated selection of mostly IKEA pieces strikes the right balance between affordability, flexibility, and clean design. The renovated apartment delivered a fresh, modern environment ready for the short-term rental market. The design achieved: Increased functionality and flow in a limited footprint. A durable, stylish interior capable of withstanding frequent guest use. A cost-effective solution that elevated the property’s rental value without exceeding budget. Post-renovation, Casaoo reported higher booking rates and strong guest feedback, particularly on the apartment’s sense of openness and contemporary atmosphere. The project was completed on time and within budget, ensuring the apartment could quickly be placed on the rental market during peak demand season.
uniE621 OSHUA – Japanese Fine Dining in Shanghai
Location: Shanghai, China Area: ≅300 sqm Year: 2022 Status: Completed Partnership: ARKA Mission: Create an authentic yet contemporary Japanese dining experience in Shanghai through refined interior design Scope: Interior Design Concept, Spatial Planning, Material Selection, Lighting Design OSHUA set out to establish a Japanese fine dining restaurant in Shanghai that would stand out in a competitive market. The ambition was to create not only a place to eat, but an immersive cultural journey — where every detail of the space would evoke the refinement, harmony, and ritual of Japanese tradition, while appealing to modern, design-conscious diners. The challenge was to strike the right balance: contemporary minimalism had to coexist with traditional Japanese elements, without becoming a pastiche. If the space leaned too modern, it risked losing cultural authenticity. If it leaned too traditional, it risked alienating Shanghai’s cosmopolitan clientele. We designed OSHUA’s interiors around a core principle: immersive simplicity. The materials palette was reduced to its essence — exposed concrete and dark wood — establishing a sense of calm and timelessness. The entrance ritual sets the tone: guests remove their shoes before entering, instantly transported into a more intimate and mindful experience. The restaurant unfolds through a sequence of spaces: Entrance Atrium: a circular foyer featuring a spotlighted rock, adding a sense of mysticism and anticipation. Private Dining Rooms: four rooms, each themed around a facet of Japanese culture — Dance, Elegance, Nature, and Fans. Each room is fitted with tatami floors, sunken seating, and subtle decorative details tied to its theme. Whiskey Bar Counter: welcoming guests upon arrival, the bar offers a curated drinks experience that complements the culinary journey. The kitchen and service areas are discreetly positioned to the side, preserving the quiet and contemplative atmosphere throughout the dining experience. The result is a restaurant that transcends function to become an experience. Guests are not simply dining — they are immersed in an environment that reflects the spirit of Japan with authenticity and refinement. For OSHUA, the new interior design positioned the restaurant as one of the most distinctive Japanese fine dining experiences in Shanghai, helping to attract design-savvy locals, expats, and international visitors seeking more than just a meal.
paper MS Automobili - New offices and corporate identity
Client: MS Automobili, luxury and classic car dealership, Turin Mission: Redesign their corporate identity and new offices to reflect their positioning in the premium automotive market Outcome: Full corporate rebrand and branded environment design Impact: Enhanced customer perception, improved internal alignment, increased high-ticket inquiries Scope: Brand Strategy, Visual Identity, Branded Interior, Signage, Collateral MS Automobili has built its reputation as a trusted dealership in Turin, offering a wide range of cars — from everyday models to luxury vehicles and rare collector’s items. As the business expanded, they needed a corporate identity and new office design that could communicate reliability, prestige, and passion for cars. The objective was twofold: Elevate the brand’s perception to match its premium offering Create a physical space where clients immediately feel trust and exclusivity We developed a new identity system and designed their new offices as an extension of their brand values. Key steps included: Visual Identity: A modernized logo system, timeless typography, and a color palette inspired by luxury automotive culture. Branded Interiors: A welcoming showroom-office environment blending professionalism with lifestyle cues — premium materials, curated displays, and customer touchpoints designed for comfort and clarity. Corporate Collateral: Business cards, signage, and documents that reinforce consistency across the entire customer journey. The results were both aesthetic and commercial. The new identity improved brand recall and positioned MS Automobili closer to premium European dealerships. Office redesign increased customer satisfaction scores, with visitors reporting a “clearer, more premium first impression.” Within the first 6 months post-launch, inquiries for luxury and classic models grew by +28%, compared to the previous period. Sales teams reported faster trust-building with new clients, reducing the average sales cycle by nearly 15%. The identity was launched across the dealership’s new offices, signage, digital presence, and printed materials. A brand toolkit ensured that the internal team could maintain consistency across communication and customer interactions.
