John grew up traveling around on movie and television sets with his Father through his childhood and as a teen. Movies like Deliverance, E.T. Indiana Jones Temple of Doom and Top Gun.. John graduated high school and went directly into the industry working with his Father for a few years on multiple TV and feature projects and eventually working up the department ladder from film loader, Assistant Camera to Cinematographer, eventually winning a lifetime achievement award for his roll as a focus technician. John has been working with Directors Tony Scott, David Fincher, Steven Spielberg and JJ Abrams on multiple movies and many others over the next 20 years. Fight Club, Man on Fire, MI3, Star Trek and Revenant are among his most challenging projects... John worked as a Camera Operator, working Directly with the Cinematographer, Actors and Director telling the story with camera movement and composition for many years. John’s true passion was to follow in his Father’s footsteps to Cinematographer, which meant turning down projects as Operator and going after every project big or small as Cinematographer which has given John a well rounded portfolio from TV to Movies to Documentaries and even music video, creating the look and telling a story cinematically is a love for him. John now has made a name as a Cinematographer with thirty plus short films as many music videos and spec commercials which were instrumental for his experience which led to shows like Netflix’s Monster / Dahmer Season 1, Paramount Seal Team Season 6, Amazon’s Jack Ryan Season 4 and Most recently ABC/ Hulu’s Doctor Odyssey Season 1. Recently traveling around the world on a documentary and now working on independent features. John’s passion for telling stories evolved over those years learning from so many amazing talented people around the world.
