Hello! I am Jacob Gong, and I'm an illustrator and book designer currently based in Los Angeles, California. My primary focus is in children’s publishing, with an emphasis on middle-grade covers and a growing interest in picture books. I am also interested in editorial, animation, game, and toys/novelty illustration projects. My pieces are typically character-driven and narrative-based, incorporating elements of magic, surrealism, and childhood nostalgia with themes drawn from my upbringing in China. I have worked with clients such as Pocket FM, Fairshare Publishing, and The InQueery, and have participated in both Scholastic’s and the AOI’s 2025 mentorship programs.
