My name is Jacob Thompson and I am a freelance remote video editor residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have been passionate about film for as long as I can remember, but realized I had a knack for video editing when I took the TV/Video Production course at Warren Tech at age 17. From 2020-2024, I attended the TV/Film Production program at University of Colorado-Denver having directed or helped out with numerous short film projects. In 2024, I capped off my senior year when my short film, Gunslingers, swept my school's film festival before graduating with my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. During my time in college, I began my journey trying to make video editing my full-time career starting off with assistant editing jobs before making enough connections to be able to head entire projects and sustain a living editing videos for clients. I have experience in both long form and short form video editing within a variety of topics such as politics, real estate, agriculture, outdoor sustainability, and health equity. Many of these videos can range from corporate ads to documentary style videos to short social media reels. I have a keen eye for pacing, rhythm, and visual storytelling which I believe is a valuable asset to have in this field.
