    uniE621 Tropics College
    Scrap paper colleges randomly glued to 18 in. by 24 in. paper. Each scrap piece was then painted with watercolor to replicate the photos originally glued down.

    Full Oil Pastel piece depicting greenery, a Brugmansia, Cape Primrose, and a Venus Slipper Flower. Finished in 2023, 18 in. by 24 in.
    uniE621 Unconventional Still Life
    This charcoal still-life piece includes an intricate vase, an animal jaw bone, an apple, fabric, and other randomly placed objects. The eccentric objects give this piece its title, as well as the varying value range showing the full depth of each subject. This piece was given an honorable mention in Joliet Junior College's 2023 Spring Art Show and received an award of compensation towards my college tuition funds. Finished in 2023, 18 in. by 24 in.

    Decay is a charcoal and charcoal pencil piece with a realistic approach to the skull style. The crumbling brick and shiny platform holding the skull are intended to add more depth to the drawing and overall composition. Finished in 2022, 18 in. by 24 in

    Cut paper design made with colored construction, cotton, and newsprint paper. Each ray includes the use of glued layered paper to create a multi-color consistent design pattern. Finished in 2022, 18 in. by 24 in

    Carved clay mold filled with plaster containing reliefs of lengthy and shallow depths. After the plaster set, it was removed from the mold and finished with a watercolor native-inspired design. Finished in 2023, 12 in. by 12 in

    This still-life is drawn with charcoal and charcoal pencil with a pear fruit as the focal point. This still-life is my earliest attempt with charcoal, and the importance of trusting my eye became extremely apparent. I still find it relevant to my portfolio, since this piece can better present my growth in charcoal and still-life art. Finished in 2022, 18 in. by 24 in.

    The acrylic painting contains a realistic concept with unrealistic colors. Finished in 2018, 12 in. by 12 in.
    uniE621 Bloom
    Bloom is an acrylic-painted abstract piece influenced by the subjective concept of life. The focal point (the skull) represents the general experience all humans endure at the end of life, death, a common theory debated for generations. The greenery weaving in the composition is intended to show the beautiful stages of growth all individuals encounter throughout their lifetime. The butterflies are another symbol of growth to give life to the overall environment of the painting.

    This piece incorporates walnut ink and red watercolor. Based on Stephen King, Stanley Kubrick, and Diane Johnson's story of The Shining, I chose to depict the well-known hallway scene by including perspective, line, and high contrast. Finished in 2022, 12 in. by 12 in.

    Radiance is a vibrant painting including the abstraction of a spider. The bright yellow and purple acrylic paint is meant to emphasize the meaning of radiance and to provide the painting with more energy.
