James is a camera operator and director of photography who offers transatlantic production services to US and UK clients in news/events, broadcast television, documentaries, corporate communications and online branded content.
He offers production services for US clients who need UK/European content. Recently, James shot interview content for the Atlanta History Centre and focus group events for Los Angeles director Constantine Savvides.
In the US, James delivers a British presence and has captured news and event coverage for Evolution TV alongside documentary work. His ‘white label’ service maintains a consistent production quality level, helping maintain a uniform ‘on-brand’ visual style between the UK and US regions. A single point of contact simplifies recruitment and is more cost-effective.
James trained at the BBC, Arri Academy and National Film and Television School and possesses years of experience as a combat camera operator in the Royal Air Force, training at the Defense School of Photography, RAF Cosford.
Now an industry veteran, James has over a decade of international shooting experience in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia and maintains a US I Media Visa with US Global Entry.
A creative problem solver at heart, his happy place is developing a project’s visual identity through considered composition and lighting. Supporting colleagues with artistic, technical and logistical decision-making - an eye pressed into the viewfinder, creating work that matters with people who care.
