James is a Bedfordshire based composer who specialises in film score composition and production music. He can find inspiration for new works in almost all film scores, from orchestral blockbusters to intimate electro-acoustic dramas. Scores from Doctor Who and early 2000's Nintendo games were the early sparks that made James want to pursue a life of music composition. His early work comprised of writing tracks for fan-made Pokémon games before he started to lean towards Film and TV composition. In order to progress his knowledge around the subject, he attained a place at Leeds Conservatoire (formally Leeds College of Music) on their BA Film Music course. Having studied for three years, and achieving a first class degree, he worked on multiple independent short film projects and utilised clips from existing TV shows to develop his composition skills.
