Alongside my studies, I have consistently sought opportunities to apply my skills in professional settings. Most recently, I worked as a Marketing Assistant at Reflex Blue, where I supported the firm’s largest client, Taylor Wimpey. In this role, I produced social media content in line with strict brand guidelines and developed detailed presentations analysing web and social media performance. This required strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to draw meaningful insights from data to support client decision-making. My experience with SwimSmart and Streets-UK also allowed me to develop skills relevant to this role. For SwimSmart, I undertook in-depth consumer research to provide suggestions for the company’s product design, during which time I engaged with relevant stakeholders, ensuring a balance between consumer satisfaction and feasibility for the client. For my time at Streets-UK I was able to demonstrate my creativity and design skills through working with Aberdeen city council to design an outreach campaign for residents of local flats. To do so, I strove to think outside the box and develop a campaign that would cut through typically dull council communications. The result was a pop-art inspired campaign design which received an extremely positive response rate of 67%, far higher than the council’s usual goal of 10%. My responsibilities also included survey design and analysis, through which I used my understanding of metrics to provide recommendations for Streets-UK. Throughout these roles, I utilised creative thinking and an unwavering attention to detail to provide actionable insights and effective communications materials.
