    uniE621 Energy Savings Made Simple
Full Video = https://vimeo.com/jarbrain/energy-savings-made-simple] Agency: In The Dark Role: Storyboard Artist, Graphic Designer, Motion Designer Software: After Effects (with Element 3D), Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign Jarbrain collaborated with In The Dark to create an explainer video promoting NatWest Bank’s Energy Audit Service, aimed at helping businesses reduce energy costs and adopt sustainable practices. The visual style was 3D isometric, featuring smooth scene transitions and a consistent look. Using Element 3D in After Effects, a cube animated through the scenes served as a central narrative device. As client feedback evolved the script, Jarbrain updated storyboards and refined scene compositions to maintain clarity and engagement. Storyboard panels were created and optimised in Photoshop, then organised in InDesign to streamline production. New vector assets were designed in Illustrator to maintain the isometric style. Flat 2D elements, like charts, were converted into dynamic 3D visuals to illustrate data effectively. Working under the direction of a producer and director, Jarbrain led design and animation, collaborating closely with the client. The success of the first video led to a second commissioned video. Jarbrain developed the storyboard, though budget constraints led to in-house completion by the production company. The final video clearly communicated NatWest’s Energy Audit benefits, using engaging motion graphics and isometric animation to help businesses understand how to save money and improve sustainability. natwest energyaudit ExplainerVideo IsometricDesign motiondesign element3d aftereffectsedit storyboard graphicdesign animation sustainability corporatevideo jarbrain inthedark businessanimation datavisualization motiongraphics
uniE621 The Coinbase Experience - 'Cryptocurrency in Motion'
Full Video = https://vimeo.com/jarbrain/coinbase-experience] Jarbrain, alongside other motion designers, played a key role in animating videos based on storyboards crafted by Lively Agency’s visual artists. Recognising Jarbrain’s animation expertise, Lively Agency enlisted its help to build the main character rig. Drawing on extensive experience, Jarbrain skillfully created animated characters for a new video brand. Visual artists provided fresh character sheets, while producers guided animation direction. This collaboration produced a versatile character rig master template, boosting efficiency. The template enabled quick generation of characters tailored to various projects, streamlining work for both new and experienced animators. Jarbrain also generated comprehensive documentation outlining guidelines and animation rules, establishing consistency across all Coinbase explainer videos. As lead motion and graphic designer familiar with Coinbase’s brand, Jarbrain helped new designers align with standards. In a leadership role, Jarbrain trained new team members and instilled best practices. Additionally, Jarbrain experimented with JSON format capabilities, uncovering key insights and documenting guidelines to help fellow designers understand its potential and limits. This initiative fostered best practices in content creation. BBC Radio 3 commissioned Adam Zygadlo to create a small animated promo for Naomi Alderman’s play, Wolf in the Water. The project benefited from the prior collaboration with graphic novelist Karrie Fransman, who also contributed illustrations. Wolf in the Water is a new narrative continuing the lore and characters from Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice. The animation creatively used footage of running water that slowly bleeds across the screen, serving as both a visual transition and a recurring motif linking illustrated scenes. To bring depth and life to the visuals, subtle camera movements were added, enhancing the perception of space. The watercolour-style illustrations were paired with voice acting that narrated the story summary, alongside a complementary soundtrack to enrich the audio experience. wolfinthewater bbcradio3 naomialderman animatedpromo motiondesign AfterEffects illustrationartists karriefransman shakespeare merchantofvenice watercoloranimation voiceacting audiovisual animationart ShortFilm
