    Release Trailer:

Plus Ultra: Legado is a 2D Metroidvania set during Mexico’s inception in the 16th century developed by PÓNTICA S.A… This exhilarating yet complex encounter between Europe and the Americas unfolds as a classical adventure. Using the Metroidvania genre to recount these significant historical events with the storytelling art style of a comic book, and thus the “comicvania” is born.

Having returned to Spain on July of 2022, conveniently this project soon arrived at my doorstep. For the music, I knew that to really make this game breathe and feel authentic, we needed real instruments. Being back home in my home studio, with all my toys and instruments, it was the right time to stretch my legs and tackle something immense. When I first came to the project, my colleague Juan Haering had already written some MIDI demos that, while well written, lacked sufficient weight in its production and therefore didn’t respond well to the significance that a project like this required. Thus a collaboration ensued: Haering would write up concepts; I would deconstruct and reconstruct them into pieces I deemed would best fit the story and the gameplay of Plus Ultra: Legado, thus enriching the soundtrack by having two phases of composition.
