    Saudade

Composed in Summer of 2026 “Saudade” is an atmospheric piece meant to evoke a longing, lonely, and nostalgic feeling. It is simple melodically and rhythmically but has some semi advanced harmony and overall is a spacey and emotional work.

    I Am With You

I Am With You was composed in the fall of 2025 as a project to practice and hone orchestral writing skills. This piece features fast-paced rhymes, orchestral textures, counter melodies, tone shifts, and much more. The title “I Am With You” was given to the work as a reference to Jarrett’s Catholic faith to match the piece’s overall hopeful and heroic tone. One of the standout features of the orchestration is the piano; there are long, flowing runs, interesting, colorful melodies, and complementary rhythms to the rest of the orchestra. Moreover, the French Horn parts are also a standout feature, as the parts are high ambient, contrasting, and reinforce the overall presentation of the piece.

    Suzette's Soliloquy

Suzette’s Soliloquy was composed in the fall of 2024 for the purpose of fulfilling a character theme for the production “No Room for Heroes." The character in question is Suzette, a French woman who comes from a troubled background as a bank robber and mother. The piece demonstrates her character’s questionable motives while also retaining the humanity and contemplation of her choices throughout the course of the narrative. This orchestral work features a somber tone with orchestration that slightly differs from what you might come to expect from the traditional symphonic style. This includes the celesta, cello solos, and dissonant choir. Harmonically, the piece is in C major; however, it features a plethora of modal mixture, most notably the minor iv chord (F minor) in the introductory segment of the piece. Melodically, the piece remains simple yet with tasteful repetition to cement the motive within the audience.
