I am Joel Katz, a passionate performing musician specializing in the Hawaiian Steel Guitar with a wealth of experience in music education and audio production. As an instructor at UH Maui College, I develop and teach courses in ukulele, guitar, audio technology, and Hawaiian Steel Guitar, and mentor music projects for the Institute for Hawaiian Music. I also provide music therapy through ukulele music to support eating disorder recovery.
I own and engineer at Seaside Recording Studio, where I produce award-winning music for various media including CD, film, radio, and video. Over the years, I have performed as a musician and vocalist for the Old Lahaina Luau Show and served as the musical director for a premier show band. I enjoy combining my skills as a musician, educator, and audio engineer to contribute to the music and education communities in Hawaii.
