This project involved animating an existing logo for branding and marketing. The biggest challenge was layering, as the logo had many elements requiring precise separation for smooth motion. Hand-animating 2D effects required frame-by-frame adjustments for natural movement. Balancing motion complexity was crucial. An animated Basketball film (Hoops Journey)
Hoops Journey is an animated short film about a guy taking to rise in court with lessons to be learned. I took part in storyboarding, character rigging, Key animation, in between animation and compositing and visual effects. The animation three minutes 30 seconds short took about two weeks to complete.
Problems Encountered and solutions
When rigging the characters, the shapes especially at the elbow were complex to me as I had no rigging experience with that shape but with the right mapping and planning, I found the best formulae that worked perfectly.
It was my first time doing a basketball-themed story so I had to work with my references a lot, especially during the storyboarding and the key animation process.
