I'm Johnny Phethean, a Newcastle-born, Manchester-based sound designer, music maker, and DJ, working in the industry for over 15 years.​ I've spent most of that time making noises for dance floors, films, animations, adverts, plays, podcasts, radio, video games, and releasing music under my alias schuttle and co-running a record label called Bakk Heia Records. I understand the value of sound and how it affects an audience's state of mind. As a sound designer and music maker I identify the characteristics of a story, brand, or project, and work from there. I create music that elevates a theme or narrative, and design sound that fleshes out the world or identity that a project needs, all with a meticulous ear for detail and understanding of the relevant audience, whether that be a short film, a podcast, an art piece, club music, an animation, or anything else.
