Let’s cut to the chase: I’m your guy. That’s really all there is to it. You wouldn’t be reading this if I didn’t think I could not only fill your position but, in actual fact, excel at it. Just as you are receiving many, many potential candidates for the position you have open at your organization, so too am I sifting through the silt of the online job search stream to find potential employers that I think might be a good fit for me. If you’re reading these words, then congratulations! You made the cut. Would you care to dance? Yes, let’s! What makes me so sure that I’m the bullseye you’ve been aiming for? Let’s dig into it: Experience: Over twenty years as a graphic design professional. I’ve done almost everything within the field. I’ve worked in a corporate office in the entertainment industry, been part of a remote team designing and developing interactive educational product, led design and dev teams in an agency environment, and taught a broad range of university-level design courses. All along the way I’ve maintained a solid freelance business, working on a wide variety of projects across the entire spectrum of design. Talent: I’ve been doing what I do for a long time and I’m very good at it. I’m a passionate and versatile craftsperson and my work speaks loudly to that effect. I can adapt my skillset to any given project, whether it’s the jacket art for a punk band’s LP or a promotional video for lockdown drill management software. I design for what the project needs and my clients’ satisfaction is my paramount goal. Efficiency: Organization is my dark overlord. In the professional dimension, anyhow. The first floor of my house is crammed full of scrap lumber, in-progress lighting projects, piles of cat toys, and stacks of books. In the computer, however, I’m obsessed with file structure and naming conventions. And: I. Name. All. My. Layers. I work in a way that makes it easier for me to do my best designing and not waste time stumbling over speedbumps of my own making. Leadership & Mentoring: As I mentioned above, I’ve been mentoring young designers since the early part of the century. My interns and students have gone on to have dynamic and exciting careers of their own, and it’s been a real gas watching them flourish. Fun To Be Around and Tall: I think it’s right there in the title, isn’t it? I like to chuckle and have a good time, and if there’s something on the top shelf you need to nab, just ask. I gotchu. And that’s the whole of me, gentle reader. I hope that I’ve piqued your interest and that we’ll be talking soon about how I can help you make your situation the best it can be. Shasta!
