Hi, I’m Kathleen Hockey, a senior freelance print designer specialising in textile design. I have extensive experience designing for conventional and digital print with brands such as Sanderson, Liberty London, Cole & Son Wallpapers, Osborne & Little and Alexander McQueen. I focus on high-quality hand-painted and drawn techniques, creating artwork that forms unique prints and conversations, enhanced with CAD software. I routinely conduct broad exploratory research, stay ahead of emerging trends, and manage briefs for in-house collections, collaborations and bespoke projects from concept to finished product.

I have production oversight experience and build strong relationships with manufacturers. I thrive both independently and in teams, and I’ve collaborated with international studios including Ardmore Ceramics in Johannesburg and Fornasetti in Milan. With advanced proficiency in Photoshop and AVA CAD/CAM, I excel at creating repeats, placements and motif prints, plus a wide range of colouring options. I am a self-motivated designer who embraces dynamic challenges that push my skills and creativity.
