    I was involved in the development and testing of software for encoder systems at the Kodaikanal Solar Observatory. My role focused on building and optimizing applications to interface with high-precision encoders used in telescope tracking systems. I developed a GUI-based application using Python, integrating real-time data acquisition from IK220 encoder cards. The system was designed to accurately read, visualize, and log the encoder positions, enabling seamless control and monitoring of the telescope’s movement. I also implemented graphical representations of axis movement, performed performance testing of encoder responses, and ensured stable operation under varying conditions. This project deepened my understanding of hardware-software integration, real-time systems, and scientific instrumentation in astronomical research.
