About

Hi, I’m Rachel, an illustrator, graphic designer and curriculum creator with over 10 years of experience as an art teacher. Throughout my career, I’ve designed educational resources, worksheets, presentations, classroom materials, event graphics, and original illustrations for students of all ages.

I enjoy creating illustrations and designs that are both visually engaging and meaningful. Whether it’s a children’s book, educational workbook, activity pages, or print materials, I focus on creating work that is clear, creative, and tailored to each client’s vision.

What sets me apart is my background in both education and design. I don’t just create artwork—I think about how people will learn from it, interact with it, and enjoy it. I’m easy to work with, communicate clearly, and take pride in delivering thoughtful, high-quality work that helps bring ideas to life.

The Brief: Create animal illustrations to accompany each number from 1 - 20, a children's educational coloring booklet. I illustrated a group of sheep to represent the number seven. I used simple black line drawings with playful details to make the animals appealing and easy for young children to color. I arranged the sheep around a large number seven, making the number the main focus of the page. I also included the word "Seven" at the bottom, using bold outlined lettering that children could color in as well.

The Brief: Illustrate animals that represent different colors for a children's coloring booklet. I created a series of animal illustrations to accompany a children's activity booklet focused on learning colors. Each animal was chosen to represent a particular color, making the connection between the animal and the color easy for young children to understand. I illustrated the animals using clean black outlines and simple details, keeping the drawings recognizable and fun to color. I also considered the age of the children who would be using the booklet, making sure the illustrations were clear and approachable without being overly complicated.

Project: Nativity Scene Illustration The Brief: Create a simple illustration depicting the Nativity scene. What I Did & How I Did It: I created a digital illustration of the Nativity, featuring Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, and the animals surrounding them. I wanted to keep the design simple and warm, using soft, muted colors and clean, organic shapes to give the illustration a gentle and peaceful feel. I focused on simplifying the characters and animals while keeping enough detail to make each one recognizable. I also used a circular background to bring all the elements together and create a balanced composition. The final illustration has a clean, modern look while keeping the traditional feeling of the Nativity story.
