Alexis Kwaben, a composer, sound engineer, and storyteller from the Chicagoland area, works to breathe life into projects that illuminate the beauty and challenges of humanity, diversity, and individuality. Fueled by a genuine love for storytelling and sound, nurtured by a childhood immersed in the worlds of books, theater, and games, she is deeply committed to inspiring a new generation of audiences and empowering diverse narratives through her work. Guided by her passion for fostering diversity in media, she aims to preserve the open-minded wonder, courage, and curiosity reminiscent of childhood. With dual B.A. degrees in Audio Production and Music from Webster University, complemented by an M.F.A. in Music Composition for the Screen from Columbia College Chicago, Alexis combines her technical expertise with her artistic vision. She loves to blend vintage analog techniques with modern audio production methods, crafting distinctive compositions that intertwine varied sonic elements and musical genres in unique ways. Alexis' contributions extend to projects for companies such as Disney, DreamWorks, HBO Max, Warner Bros., and Netflix, encompassing a diverse range of mediums including film, TV, theater, games, and live events. Her work has been featured on platforms like PBS and honored at festivals including the Chicago International Children's Film Festival and the Prague International Film Festival. Currently, Alexis is anticipating the debut of her newest project, a feature documentary titled 'Three (Extra)Ordinary Women,' produced by Cionin Lorenzo and Pearlette J. Ramos. Additionally, she is engaged in the development of a video game as an audio lead and is working on an EP in collaboration with various artists. When not in the studio, she loves to relax with her nose buried in a book, playing games, babying her plants, and dancing the night away! However, when not on the ground, Alexis can be found scaling trees and capturing wild birds in her hands.
