My name is Leigh Parker, and I was born in the UK in 1972. My first experience as an artist was when my beloved parents identified my passion for creating artwork and engaged a local art teacher to become my mentor.  My influences are numerous and derive from just about anything – life, nature, flora and fauna, environment, childhood, school, work, and other artists. I firmly believe that everything we see, hear, feel, touch, and taste influences our art, whether directly or indirectly. All artists have influences, whether we want to admit it or not! I believe that being an artist is something one is born to do and cannot get learned purely through school instruction. I studied through practical experience, learning through trial and error and self-learning - studying the works of many artists and working with various mediums to understand and improve my techniques and skills. It was here that I further expanded on my knowledge in acrylic and when I took third price place in a 'Young Artist' competition hosted by the British tabloid 'The Guardian' newspaper. I have also been selected as a finalist for my submission to Caffeine And Women (CAW) NFT's call for artists and Purple Octopus Art's 'The Cancer Feminine: Art, Inspiration, Truth' global competitions. I work primarily with acrylic paint, pencil, and resin undertaking a varied range of commissioned work, from delicate pendants to enormous canvas works, alongside my own creations, which I sell through both word of mouth and my website (Under Construction!) _Website not available.
