About
Hi, I’m Leya Li—a conductor, composer, and music producer with a passion for telling stories through sound. I’m currently pursuing a Master of Music in Contemporary Media/Film Composition at Eastman School of Music, where I’m studying with Jeff Beal, Mark Watters, and Dave Rivello, exploring film scoring techniques, orchestration, and mixing. My creative work spans conducting wind ensembles, composing for screen, arranging for studios, and orchestrating for live performances.
I’ve collaborated on projects ranging from live symphonic performances at major halls to film and game scoring, and I’ve organized and taught music theory to hundreds of young students in Beijing. I’m fluent in English and Mandarin, thrive in collaborative environments, and love shaping narratives with musical texture and emotion.
