Dear Hiring Manager, I’m writing to express my interest in a potential position at your company. While I may not come from a traditional background, I’ve built my skills from the ground up —starting in my bedroom studio creating YouTube videos about films. As my skills improved this then evolved into more professional pursuits. Through self-teaching college qualifications and temp roles at video companies as well as hands-on experimentation, I developed my skills in video editing, animation, and storytelling. I began producing promotional content for small businesses in my local area, which allowed me to improve my abilities and understand the needs of clients. Over time, this work led to a ever growing portfolio, a showreel, website, and even my own business cards. My drive to improve and develop connections led me to visiting London to work on music videos and independent film sets in London. These experiences have deepened my understanding of production and collaboration. I pride myself on being resourceful, adaptable, eager to learn, as well as self driven and self motivated. I have recently purchased a Sony FX30 and my interest in and desire to improve my camera skills and knowledge continues to grow.
