    paper Circular Newport Branding

Brief: To create a brand for circular Newport, a new initiative focused on making Newport more sustainable. Circular Newport requires a developed brand identity as well as a logo and brand assets that the team can use on Canva. We want the branding to be fun and colourful but also focus on sustainability.
Reason: Circular Newport began with a group of individuals, organisations, and charities wanting to make Newport a greener place. We existed without branding for a while just using Canva to create our designs but feel this is limiting us now. We want a brand to be proud of and can grow with.
Solution: We presented Circular Newport with three branding concepts based on their brief, and they chose the one below. The logo, designed by a colleague, reflects the main areas of their operations. Whilst I created 60+ assets, including illustrations, paper textures and decorative items. I used a vibrant colour scheme for cohesion and focused on detailed illustrations of people while simplifying the objects with textured one-colour designs. The textures, like paper, cloth, and wood, highlight the brand’s sustainable, eco-friendly focus. All assets were uploaded to Canva using their brand kit, and we provided a brand guideline for future design reference.

    paper NHS: Skill Surgery

Brief: To create a bilingual (Welsh and English) campaign centred around teaching children about all the various jobs in the NHS. The deliverables are branding, 3 animated videos in Welsh, English and BSL (9 total videos), merchandise and an activity book.
Reason: Many children are not aware of the scope of jobs the NHS offers so to combat this ABUHB created a course to teach primary school students in South Wales about all these roles. To fully engage the children they wanted accompanying videos and merchandise for the children to take home, this is where my design comes in.
Solution: I created fun and colourful branding that is professional but also appealing to children. Colours, shapes and characters are used across the outcomes to create synergy and a recognisable brand. The animations are eye-catching and engaging to help children understand the course content better.
