    This was a personal project I did illustrated of a western saloon exterior to go along with two other pieces I had already illustrated of the saloon interior. For this one I really wanted to focus on color and try to keep it monochromatic. I kept the composition simple, adding small details like barrels and a sign to give it character. I used textured brushes to capture the aged, rustic feel and to tie it visually to the interior illustrations.     This illustration was for a personal project of a NYC street corner. The scene features a quiet, slightly gritty corner with a wine bar, some garbage bags, and a few rats scurrying around. I started with a textured watercolor background and then built up the buildings and street details.
