My name is Marisa, or MJ to my husband, and I live in beautiful Boulder, Colorado with my hubby, my newborn daughter Lyra, my prissy Maine Coon Hazel, and our guinea pigs. I rock climb a lot, and often bring the guinea pigs with me when I free solo the flatirons. I even wrote a series of books for kids about my guinea pigs. I loved writing since I learned how to write. I have written lesson plans for Spanish teachers, ghost written for marketing firms and an engineering company. I've written about topics ranging from which lipstick is best for your skin tone to the history of broccoli and everything in between. I am currently working on a comedy book called "sit-down comedy" including some of my worst first dates (like when the guy's dog bit me in the face and I needed 18 stitches). I am a huge grammar lover and nerd and love finding typos in published works. It drives many people crazy, but I just love language and grammar and writing in general.
