Martin Laniel is a composer, arranger and music director based in Montreal, Canada. With over 20 years of experience, he has built his career across film music, television, and productions that combine music with movement and emotion.
He is passionate about bringing written music to life through detailed orchestration, sampled instrument libraries, and Ableton-based workflows, collaborating with major creators and organizations including Cirque du Soleil and musical theatre companies in Las Vegas.
Project with the choir from the First Baptist Church of Toronto, whose history and roots is linked to the Black liberation movement in the US and Canada. With them we were able to record an arrangement of Catherine Phelps’ song and perform it at the FBC with Safiya as the main vocalist. This was made possible by the Toronto Arts Council’s assistance through the Black Arts Project.
