Doctor Who Trail for National Museums Scotland
National Museums Scotland asked me do design and illustrate a Doctor Who Trail for their event taking place at the Museum. It’s a four page A4 leaflet taking visitors around the exhibits relevant to the trail. You can see this and many other work examples covering graphic design, exhibition design, logo design, illustration, vector illustrations and photography here: https://www.twine.net/signin
The Royal Botanic Gardens Public Relations pack for all four gardens
The Royal Botanic Gardens were looking for new public relations packs designed to cover banners, posters and leaflets. The large banners show the individual garden’s flowers, seasons and work. There is also an A3 double sided poster, individual gardens’ six page leaflets and a group twelve page leaflet. The dividing leaf design worked well to separate the categories and images. Each of these banners, posters and leaflets were also created for all four gardens; Edinburgh, Dawyck, Benmore and Logan. Showing the location of the gardens was also important, so quite a few intricate maps were made up for this project. You can see this work and many others on my work examples online portfolio website covering graphic design, exhibition design, logos, websites, illustration, vector graphics and photography: https://www.twine.net/signin
Exhibition Design – Historic Scotland A1 size panels
I’ve designed a wide range of exhibition panels for Historic Scotland covering a diverse range of timelines and geographic areas. Just three A1 examples shown here from various interpretation material covered. You can see these and other examples of my work covering graphic design, exhibition design, logos, website design, illustration, vector illustration and photography at: https://www.twine.net/signin
    Website design examples
A small selection of sites I’ve designed and constructed: Torridon Car Brokers Ltd wanted a site designed which would show off their range of contract hire cars and the services they offer to their clients. Midlothian Physiotherapy wanted a fresh sporty looking site that fully covered what they do and also directed people to their location in Dalkeith. Mercat Logistics Ltd wanted a website designed which would promote their world wide export business. Market Cross Veterinary Clinic wanted a new design for their website that complemented their new corporate identity which I had designed. The banner illustrations cover their main patients. The Edinburgh Clean Company Edinburgh wanted a design that showed the main services they offered to their clients. The author F.T. Barbini wanted a website designed which could promote her range of books on offer. Grants Furniture wanted a site to show their extensive quality ranges in an easy to find format. Through a lively use of headers and page numbering, this site is easily navigated through, and keeps you informed and interested through the full website. You can see this and many other work examples covering graphic design, website design, exhibition design, logo design, illustration, vector illustration and photography at: https://www.twine.net/signin
Second World War wartime life illustrated worksheets
National Museums Scotland asked me to design and illustrate a Second world War pack of worksheets. This was to inform visitors of real individuals lives during the war. This ranged from evacuated children, woman at war, prisoners of war and soldiers on the front line. All the leaflets are A4, I’ve just placed the individual life stories as smaller graphics to fit on the page. You can see this and other work examples covering graphic design, exhibition design, logo design, website design, illustration, vector illustration and photography at: https://www.twine.net/signin
    Wildlife illustrations for educational worksheets
Just five illustrations to show scenes in wildlife and tourist leaflets to add engaging content to interpretation work. You can see this and many other work examples covering graphic design, exhibition design, logo design, website design, illustration, vector illustration and photography at: https://www.twine.net/signin
Viking illustrations for National Museums Scotland worksheets
National Museums Scotland required illustrated leaflets for engaging with visitors to their Viking exhibition. This covered the various roles of individuals within the Viking community. There were quite a few more illustrations throughout the other leaflets showing what was involved in the different day to day lives of the five characters I illustrated in this opening welcome leaflet. You can see this and many other work examples covering graphic design, exhibition design, logo design, website design, illustration, vector illustration and photography at: https://www.twine.net/signin
National Museum of Scotland's Lewis Chessmen exhibition illustrations
Various large illustrations I drew up in Illustrator for National Museum of Scotland’s Lewis Chessmen banners, which formed the backdrop to the figures in their main exhibition. You can see this and many other work examples covering graphic design, exhibition design, logo design, website design, illustration, vector illustration and photography at: https://www.twine.net/signin
    Product design and illustration
The Royal Botanic Garden’s Flora Scotica range needed packaging that was designed around different sets of products. This is just one set from the skin care range which shows them broken down in colour ranges of Scots Pine, Sea Buckthorn and Sweet Gale. Each set has other skin care products which are designed around different sized bottles. I drew the images up in Illustrator which shows the customer what plant the products are made from. This also makes for a far more eye catching bottle on the shop floor. I had previously designed the Flora Scotica logo for them which can be seen with other work examples covering graphic design, exhibition design, logos, illustration, vector illustration and photography here: https://www.twine.net/signin
Glenwhan wayfinder trail A0 size panel map with key
Glenwhan Garden needed an aerial A0 panel for visitors to see where to go around the various trails. I illustrated this from rough photographs of the area. It shows the gardens features and buildings which are marked in the key and correspond with the numbers on the map. You can see other work examples covering graphic design, exhibition design, logo design, illustration, vector illustrations and photography here: https://www.twine.net/signin
Aerial navigational map panel for National Museum of Flight
National Museums Scotland needed an aerial view of their National Museum of Flight grounds at East Fortune. I drew this up in Illustrator with only some rough plans of the site to work from. A key was added to show visitors where everything could be accessed from. You can see other work examples covering graphic design, exhibition design, logo design, website design, illustration, vector illustrations and photography at: https://www.twine.net/signin
