In my previous contract role with Coherent/Forward Space, I worked within a small start-up team to build features using Vue, HTML and SCSS and wire them up with RESTful APIs for our web-based application. I collaborated closely with the senior developer through peer review and with the software designer to make sure we adhere to UX principles and maintain responsive web design across devices. I also gained hands-on experience working with relational databases using MySQL as well as backend development with Ruby on Rails. I worked in an Agile environment using Trello and GitHub for version control. I had autonomy over the frontend components I created, with awareness of DevOps practices and deployment workflows. I continue to hone my technical abilities through portfolio projects. Some work I’m proud to show off is a meal-planning application and a browser-based incremental game.
