Mel Patrone is a mulit-instrumentalist from South Florida. Mel began playing the trumpet in their band program after falling in love with music in choir during elementary school. Throughout middle and high school, they focused on the guitar and bass in their school’s jazz band as well as in the pit orchestra for musicals. Mel is currently enrolled at Full Sail University to study music production and is expected to graduate and receive their bachelor’s degree in July 2026. They won the 2024 North Carolina Regional Essentially Ellington Outstanding Musician Award for as the bassist of their jazz combo. Mel also records, produces, and composes music in addition to performing. They recently wrote the soundtrack for Madison Naddeo’s short film Boomerang.
