Hi, I’m Mia Hazelwood, a Halifax-based visual artist currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Fine Art at NSCAD. My practice weaves drawing, painting, and installation to explore memory, sentiment, and everyday rituals. I enjoy turning gallery spaces into open conversations with audiences and collaborating with communities to make art that feels inviting and accessible. Recent projects include curatorial roles for exhibitions at NSCAD University Gallery and Anna Leonowens Gallery, as well as a solo show, Feminine Fantasy, in Halifax. I’ve organized community Paint Night events and participated in workshops with Shary Boyle, which have shaped my work toward public engagement and experimental storytelling.
