Hello! I'm Michelle, and for the past decade I've worked in public health/international development for non-profit organizations, mostly in East Africa. Over the past few years, however, I have made and performed original music in Tanzania and around the world and recently left my job in development to dedicate more time towards pursuing creative projects in music and writing. I live in rural Tanzania with three dogs, and have a small recording studio set up where I am able to play and record tracks on vocals, guitar, ukulele, and accordion. My songwriting is unique and adaptable to all ages and backgrounds and languages (English, Kiswahili, or a combination thereof) and ranges from silly topics like ice cream and airplane layovers to serious ones like relationships, politics, women's health and gender identity. I am a Native English speaker and fluent in Kiswahili, and would love to collaborate with you on your creative projects!
