I am Mariachiara Millimaggi, an artist passionate about music and sound design. My journey began in Messina, where I honed my skills in jazz singing and linguistic studies, allowing me to blend creativity with technical expertise. As a member of various ensembles and a film composer, I express stories through sound, teaching and inspiring others along the way. I cherish collaboration and exploration across different mediums of art.

Film composer: 2025 track “Santa Lucia” for the documentary “Les Lucia (The Lucias),” film story and director Clizia Centorrino, production “L’image d’après”.
The film is in the selection phase for the international festival circuit.
I wrote an original composition based on a text compiled by Giuseppe Pitrè, linked to an old hagiographic chant whose melody has been lost to memory. I began with research in historical archives and ethnographic-anthropological interviews that documented testimonies of ancient chants. By studying their style, I composed a chant that is philologically coherent. I then arranged the melody for four voices a cappella. Finally, I recorded the a cappella piece (with myself as one of the four voices), along with three other artists.
“La Trilogia della Draga”: three musical productions linked to the study of the ancient Sicilian figure of the “Mammadraga” or “Mammadrava”. Original texts compiled from Capuana and Pitrè. A literary topos found throughout Europe, as in the Russian Baba Yaga.
Production by Compagnia Anatolè, of which I am a member as actress, musician, and composer.
2022 “Mammadraga”
2024 “Rosmarina di Sicilia”
2026"La Draga del Pozzo"
Three shows, featuring an original rewrite of the text by Valeria Alessi, with original music by Mariachiara Millimaggi.
Songs sung and played live.
Production Compagnia Anatolé
Adaptation Valeria Alessi
Original musics Mariachiara Millimaggi, live performed
I composed and arranged for female vocal trio and cello three original pieces inspired by the characters from Stefano D’Arrigo’s novel Horcynus Orca. Drawing from a deep knowledge of the novel tied to my literary studies, I aimed to characterize the narrative through musical language as a small opera: each character has their own distinctive, recognizable leitmotif. The compositions were performed live during the reading of excerpts from the novel.
