I am a BA Hons graduate who studied journalism. I have a passion for creative communication and storytelling, be it through social media campaigns, blogs, newsletters and visual imagery. I enjoy talking to people and working as part of a team. I am committed to delivering quality content. In addition, during my time at university, I was also the social secretary of the Rounders Society. As part of my role I ran the society’s social media accounts, and I helped organise team socials and events. The goal of the team’s social media presence was to inform team members of upcoming events and matches and to create a voice for the sport and the society within Portsmouth University. In 2024, I completed work experience with the Bournemouth Echo, which cemented my passion for writing and my drive to share stories about the community for the local people. It provided me with insight into the variety of roles a journalist can take on, spending one day in the law courts and the next in a dog hydrotherapy centre. During my time at the Bournemouth Echo, I had several articles published, and this strengthened my desire to work in the communications industry. I am committed to seeking newsworthy stories that are of interest to the readers and, where relevant, link them to the national news agenda. I am currently working part-time as a communications and PR assistant; in this role I create social media content for Integrated Case Management’s LinkedIn account, as well as produce articles for their newsletter and to share in-house. Throughout my time working as a communications and PR assistant, I have developed my understanding of the importance of tailoring my content for a specific platform and target audience, in this case, personal injury lawyers and insurers.
