After studying audiovisual production and dramatic arts, Maeva began her career in Paris in 2011 at Kidam as a production assistant. She contributed to the production of the documentary series New York Jazzed Out directed by Jeremiah and the medium-length film L’Âge Atomique by Helena Klotz. She then spent several months in Los Angeles, reading scripts at Voltage Pictures, before moving to Shanghai, where she lived for seven years.
In Shanghai, after a year of intensive Mandarin study, she produced both short and feature-length documentaries for French television channels (France 3, Canal+, Arte, M6, TF1). She also produced commercials and animated videos. Maeva developed a humorous web series, Maidan 买单 (The Check), which she co-wrote, produced, and edited, humorously depicting Shanghai life and its quirky moments. In 2018, she served as line producer for the feature film Minuscule 2: Mandibles from Far Away directed by Hélène Giraud and Thomas Szabo, part of which was filmed in Beijing.
In 2019, after returning to France, Maéva joined Urban Factory, where she co-produced feature films such as If Only I Could Hibernate by Zoljargal Purevdash (World Premiere at Cannes Film Festival 2023, Un Certain Regard), Plan 75 by Chie Hayakawa (World Premiere at Cannes Film Festival 2022, Un Certain Regard, Caméra d’Or Special Mention), and The Shameless by Konstantin Bojanov (World Premiere at Cannes Film Festival 2024, Un Certain Regard, Best Actress Award for Anasuya Sengupta).
In 2024, she founded the production company Stories We Tell (SWT), where she accompanies filmmakers such as Elsa Biedermann (Bleumoi, Souris Town), Jocelyn Harpet (Cloudmakers), and Nicolas San Martin (El abrazo del oso). Alongside, Maéva accompanies local brand in the production of their audiovisual content and work as freelance editor.
