A brand identity for MonoGround Coffee — a third space for Alam Impian, Shah Alam. Not just a café. A reset ground for the in-between moments.
The Context
Alam Impian is one of Shah Alam’s fastest-growing townships. New homes, new roads, new families every month. But the neighbourhood is missing a heartbeat — an intentional third space between home and work, between the school run and the gym, where the community can actually slow down.
That’s the gap MonoGround was built to fill.
The Idea
In a world that moves fast, people need to return to one.
One breath. One pace. One ground.
That became the anchor for every design decision. Strip everything back. Let the brew speak. Let the space speak. Let the mark sit still.
The Mark
A human figure. A circle for the head, a rounded rectangle for the body. Abstract. Minimal. Still. It doesn’t perform — it simply exists.
The clever bit lives in the wordmark: the “O” in MONOGROUND doubles as the head of the figure in the horizontal lockup. Type and mark become one. Same idea, told twice.
The figure in the mark isn’t a stranger. It’s you, settled. Centred. Found.
The System
Two shapes. Five colours. Two typefaces. Every element earns its place.
Palette: Black Sediment, Silver Back, Off White, Dark Orange, Caramel Coffee
Type: Test Söhne paired with Manrope
Textures: Wood, Chrome, Concrete, Orange Gradient Mesh
Pattern: Built from the deconstructed logomark — a quiet rhythm, present but never loud
Applications: Storefront, awning, decals, cups, menu, apron, packaging, coasters, cap, tote, crew shirt

The system is built for longevity. From a single café to a run club to a roastery to a retail product line — the foundations are simple enough to flex, and strong enough to hold.
