I am a graduate from the Music Industry Arts program at Algonquin College, where I learned multiple skills for everything involving the music industry. From music creation, to the release of music, I have had hands on experience from industry professionals to help me in becoming one myself. My area of expertise is in producing and mixing, and I will share my portfolio upon request.

This project is special to me because, not only is it my own song, but I had been working on it for almost two years when I recorded this version. This version makes the first almost unrecognizable as part of the progression of where the project is now. I struggled with finding what I thought sounded best in terms of the production, which is why I made a goal to make something I could confidently be proud of, and I did. I am quite happy with the outcome of this project, and the making of this project has taught me so many things, like how to dedicate myself to something I do not fully believe may sound good in the end just to do my very best to prove myself wrong. Since this was my personal project, I composed, produced, played every instrument, mixed and mastered everything. The only thing I did not do is do the engineering in the studio. For this, I owe credits to my friend and classmate from the Music Industry Arts program who helped me get good recordings to facilitate the mixing process.
Here are the mics I used for all the recorded aspects of the song:
Kick in: Sennheiser e602
Kick out: WA-47 FET
Snare top: AKG C414
Snare bottom: SM57
Hihat: Neumann KM184
Toms: Sennheiser MD-421 Kompakt
Ride: Rode NT-5
Overheads: TLM 103
Rooms (x2): Warm WA 14
Bass: Sennheiser MD-421 (on axis) and SM57 (off axis)
Piano: Warm WA 14 (room) and AKG C414 (vestibule)
Electric guitar: AKG C414 (on axis) and SM57 (off axis)
The process for the mixing was the same as I do for every project. I put all the faders down and go instrument by instrument to create a good mix within the stems. What I mean by this is, within a group of instrument (drums, bass, guitar, etc.), I bring the fader up to a reasonable level for one track, add any plugins that are necessary (gate, EQ, compressor, etc.), then I mute the track and bring up the fader for the next, then balance the levels for those tracks. Then I use routing folders to mix the instruments together. I use a pair of speakers to do most of the mixing, and I use headphones as another output to try to minimize the difference between the two outputs. In terms of the mastering, I mastered this mix to -14 LUFS, as those are the target specifications for streaming.
