On World Social Media Day, we created a bold, zero-budget awareness campaign using Deepfake technology to demonstrate how easily misinformation can be manufactured and spread — even featuring global political leaders.
Insight:
According to psychologists, our brains tend to retain misinformation unless we question it at the moment of consumption. The campaign encouraged users to pause and critically evaluate content before accepting it as truth.
Execution:
Produced a fake video using only a smartphone, featuring deepfakes of world leaders delivering manipulated messages.
The creative twist lay in educating through deception — illustrating how plausible misinformation can seem.
Video was entirely self-produced using free stock footage to emphasize accessibility of fake content creation.
