Hello, My name is Camille Ellyce Bordelon. I started my career as a vocalist fronting top 40 country and Pop bands as well as 60s and 70s music in the 1990s. I performed all over Central and North Louisiana with the Harmon Drew Group for a few years and fronted the band as lead female vocalist. I spent time on the Howard Johnson Hotel circuit in the 1990s and traveled around the United States with a top 40 band called the CARTOONS. I sang at the historic HOTEL BENTLEY in my hometown of Alexandria, Louisiana for 5 years. If I could name vocalists I sound like I would say that I began sounding like Patsy Cline and often covered her songs but Linda Rondstad Melissa Etheridge, and Cheryl Crowe were also my favorite artists to cover. Now you are more likely to hear me sing original music. I have a raspy bluesy soulful voice now and I get comparisons to Tom Waits, Maryanne Faithful and Macy Gray. However I feel as if my style is all my own and have been told that I don’t sound like any other female vocalists. I began writing lyrics around eighteen years old and have written about 250 to 300 songs now. Some are on all major streaming platforms and some are at home on my lap top waiting to be re-recorded. I look up to songwriters such as a Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan but also admire Jack whites lyrics as well as Jeff Buckley and Radiohead. I taught myself to play guitar and ukelele by ear and I am able to write songs on both instruments.”
