I am a designer with multicultural backgrounds. Specialising in branding, editorial, digital and print design, business planning and project management.
With a Malaysian-Taiwanese heritage and a deep passion for Japanese culture, I am fluent in Mandarin, English, and Japanese. My diverse cultural background influences my work, infusing it with an eclectic, cross-cultural perspective.
Over the first eight years of my career, I collaborated with agencies and studios across Taipei, Tokyo, and London. These experiences honed my ability to create visually compelling designs while considering both business objectives and user perspectives throughout the design process.
In 2016, I stepped out of my comfort zone to transition from design to branding and marketing, taking on the role of Project Manager at KANPAI GROUP, a Taiwanese restaurant group. There, I led marketing initiatives for their existing brands and spearheaded their expansion into the
UK market.
By 2017, I returned to London to establish KANPAI GROUP’s UK subsidiary, taking on the roles of Business Director and Brand Manager. I navigated the challenges of Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic, successfully minimising risk. After 14 months of negotiation and construction, KANPAI GROUP opened its first London restaurant in the heart of Soho in July 2024.

Kanpai Group, specialising in authentic Japanese BBQ, Hot Pot, and Wagyu cuisine, has opened over 60 restaurants across Taiwan and China over the past 25 years. As part of their overseas expansion, I led the UK market entry, culminating in the launch of a luxury Wagyu restaurant in Soho in 2024 after extensive market research.
As the project leader responsible for overseas expansion, I conducted comprehensive market research, including online data collection, focus groups, local interviews, and competitor analysis. This data served as the foundation for our well-crafted business plan.
Following the establishment of our London subsidiary, I identified a suitable restaurant location, prepared a comprehensive landlord pack, and coordinated design efforts between teams in Osaka, Taipei, and London to ensure a seamless transition.
