RafQu (Raffaele Quarta, b. 1985) is an Italian composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, whose work blends contemporary classical music, electronics, and songwriting. After an early career in rock and fingerstyle guitar, he released his debut solo album Homeless (2013), followed by international tours and collaborations with labels such as Candyrat Records and FretMonkey Records.
He graduated in Composition at the Lecce Conservatory, where he wrote chamber and orchestral works such as Counter Chaos (2019), Traffic (2021), and La Regina (2024, commissioned by OperaPrima and awarded by SIAE/MIC). Alongside this, he developed his songwriting project LefrasiincompiutediElena, releasing the acclaimed albums Interno 29 (2020) and La Belle Époque (2023) with Romolo Dischi, both widely recognized within the Italian independent scene.
As a producer, he founded QuStudio (2017) and Ballon Musique Studio (2024), creative hubs for artistic production and experimentation. He has collaborated with several Italian artists, including La Municipàl, Blumosso, Cristiana Verardo, and Antonio Fresa.
He has also composed soundtracks and scores for film, documentaries, and brands, including the Netflix docufilm Dietro le quinte di SuperSex (2024). His musical language merges acoustic instruments, piano, and semi-modular synthesizers in a continuous exploration of minimalism, electronic soundscapes, and contemporary expression.
