    uniE621 Food Distribution
A new company that is growing fast needed a new web site to promote their services as well as showcase the Brands they distributed. It turned out to be a complete branding project with a new logo developed along with the site. Complete design as well as product photography were done by me. The site was developed in Wordpress, with a product catalogue listing with future e-commerce capability. photo graphicdesigner illustrator webdesigner designer branding logo
    uniE621 Everybody loves a Coconut
A coconut product importer with a few products he'd been importing to Canada, requested a web site. It's a smaller company and therefore didn't have much resources at their disposal, but I still made sure their web site had enough content on their product and the brands were well represented. graphicdesigner webdesigner logo designer
    uniE621 Children are the future
Another site that I designed first as an HTML version with Dreamweaver, and then re-designed in Wordpress with a Content Management System. Used a template which I adapted and changed to the design specifications I presented to the client. photo graphicdesigner designer webdesigner
    uniE621 Flying high
JD Aero Maintenance is a company that I worked with during my consulting days with Jade Communications. I designed their first web site with a Flash intro and HTML using Dreamweaver. Later on they came to me directly asking me to develop a newer site that was responsive and mobile friendly. The site was completely developed in Wordpress and since they liked the previous version's animation intro, I used a video background in the main page slider area of the new si. graphicdesigner webdesigner photo branding designer
    uniE621 Security and CCTV
Group 4 Falck, one of the leading security firms in the world wanted to promote their company an various services via magazine ads. One of the areas were their 24 hour CCTV surveillance monitoring system, which reminded me of a TV studio. So I came up with the idea to use the bad guys as the stars, who are called in for action (in this case conviction) by a film director.
    uniE621 Talk about a virgin!
During the launch of their new Virgin Coconut Oil to the market, Grace Foods was looking to promote it on regular newspapers, ethnic community as well as in magazines. I wanted to use the term "virgin" in a more provocative way, only to emphasize the medical fact, that coconut oil is actually good for your heart. This was shown with an inside of the coconut, retouched to look like the shape of a heart. In the end the message was too "risky" for the market and client didn't go for it, which was disappointing. photo graphicdesigner illustrator designer
    uniE621 Before Columbus reached USA
As a continuation of the previous ad concept, I used the tea leaves to show the American Flag and wordplay on the fact that Ceylon Tea is older than the country of USA. photo graphicdesigner illustrator designer branding
    uniE621 Mobile Security
Group 4 Falck has another area of their mobile security services, with fast action response in an emergancy. Using the famous quote "every man's house is castle to him" I emohasized that Group 4 Flack also thinks of their valuable property the same way, when protecting and safe guarding them. graphicdesigner branding designer
uniE621 Concept Ad for Ceylon Tea
This is a concept ad I designed as an exercise to promote Ceylon Tea, which is known as the world's best tea. The British introduced the team plant to Sri Lanka during the Colonial era when they ruled the island nation. Based on a wordplay on this simple but true fact, I decided to use the tea leaves to visually portray the Union Jack flag of United Kingdom. photo graphicdesigner branding designer
uniE621 One shot, no retouching, not digital
In 1988 I art directed this photograph at a studio, where for a series of shots to introduce a newly branded soda pop range in Sri Lanka. The shot required a spilled clear soda bubble, partly covering each new label, revealing the new look in a teaser campaign. This image was the last one where all labels were covered in a bubble that was shaped like the bottle, with he actual bottle top popping out with a fizz. This whole series were shot and used for final production without any kind of retouching or image manipulations, as there was no Photoshop or digital AI to help achieve this look as we do now. Actual airbrushing on a print was available, but that was not used either. It’s one of the most inquired about pieces in my portfolio, and it’s actually a simple method that I came up with at the studio. The labels are placed under a thin clear glass so that the liquid doesn’t touch and damage it. Then I used clear Glycerine which is clear like water, but thick enough to keep its’ shape as a bubble or whatever we wanted. However in this shot due to the heat of the studio lights, the shape would change in between shot, which forced me to I use a brush to reshape it to look like the bottle, while the photographer clicked several shots. Of course it wasn’t digital and we had to wait couple of days till the film was developed, and prints were made, to see if the shape of the bottle was captured. Several of the shots did and it was a very successful re-launch of the brand that made the client very happy! photo branding designerartdirector
uniE621 Grace Brands on Truck Panels
Following the success of the Coconut Water panels, the client requested to adapt a similar design for their other key brands. One was their other range of drinks, Island Soda and Tropical Rhythms a drinks made out of fruits and their flavours. Again the visual was designed to show the opened inside of the truck with crates of fruit transported, along with large blenders. The final panel was to promote their Sauces, especially the frozen Jerk Chicken packs that was based on their famous Jerk sauce. This time I made the inside of the truck a Freezer with packed ice and icicles carrying these frozen product. photo graphicdesigner designer illustrator branding
uniE621 Grace Coconut Water Truck Panel
I presented them the concept of making it look like 3D from any angle, and show the inside of the truck. The idea was to show part of the side panel ripped off, showing the key source of their product, coconuts being transported inside the truck. They loved the idea and I used many stock photography of coconuts, to show a pile of them inside the truck in the ripped part of the panel while the other half of the panel showed the final product, Grace Coconut Water and their branding. The size of the coconuts were made larger than actual size, since people needed to identify it from a far, and to complete the project I used tieback of the truck doors to show the clear doors of a cooler, with all the Coconut Water bottles as well as their other drinks such as Grace Island Soda & Grace Tropical Rhythms. photo graphicdesigner designer illustrator branding
