Robyn Bryant is a film composer based in Aotearoa New Zealand, known for her contributions to international blockbuster Avatar: The Way of Water; as a key member of composer Simon Franglen’s music team, her extensive duties included instrument design, music editing work, score preparation, and coordinating recording sessions over the year-long project. Robyn’s latest scoring project, Mike Smith’s feature film The People We Love, is slated for release in 2025. She is currently writing the music for an upcoming feature film.
Committed to scoring projects with an important message, Robyn’s credits include Raids, directed by Jade Jackson, about the treatment of Pacific Island families during the New Zealand dawn raids, which enjoyed a successful festival run including the New Zealand International Film Festival and Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival, and the drama The Dining Table, which focused on the treatment of sign language in New Zealand. Robyn created an orchestral score to the live cinema show Borders & Margins about the 1953 East German uprising, which premiered at BATS theatre.
Robyn is a contributor to Sick Muse Music, based in Los Angeles, where her music is featured in major international TV programs. Her background includes contributing music to multiple theatre productions, including the internationally-touring Suitcase Show, and mentorship from Emmy Award-winning music editor and composer Stephen Gallagher (“The Lord of the Rings: The War of Rohirrim, Beatles: Get Back“).
