    uniE608 Ocean Albedo Buoy
I developed the Ocean Albedo Buoy as a speculative climate-mitigation concept and created a short explainer video to visualize how the system would function in the real world. The project was designed to translate a complex environmental idea into something visually clear, accessible, and engaging for a general audience. The Ocean Albedo Buoy is a floating system intended to increase ocean surface reflectivity (albedo) by reflecting a portion of incoming solar radiation away from the water. By reducing heat absorption at the surface, the concept aims to help slow localized ocean warming in vulnerable regions, while remaining non-toxic, modular, and environmentally conscious. My focus for this project was on concept development, visual storytelling, motion design, and clarity of communication. I designed and animated the video to demonstrate the buoy’s purpose, placement, and potential environmental impact using clean visuals, restrained pacing, and a tone appropriate for scientific and public audiences. This piece represents my ability to take an abstract or emerging idea, shape it into a coherent concept, and communicate it through motion and design, from early ideation through to final video execution.
    uniE608 Unfolding Jellybean Row
Motion design experiment created in After Effects, transforming King’s Road in St. John’s into a playful 3D pop-up parade. Set to Rosemary Lawton’s fiddle tune Mussels in the Corner, the piece explores rhythm, timing, and local identity through animation. Only in St. John’s can a street feel like a celebration on its own. A little motion design with a dollop of Newfoundland spirit. ❤️🌈
