As a Nashville native raised in a family of singers, songwriters, and musicians, Sam Cannon speaks fluent music. After receiving a formal education in studio engineering at Nashville’s Blackbird Academy and film and video game scoring through Scorecraft Academy, studying under Michael Whittaker, Sam Cannon has quickly become the trusted composer for many. His natural abilities were first debuted when he was 5 as the drummer in his family band, Loaded Cannon, and by middle school, his sense of rhythm and groove spread to the digital world where he dove into producing and composing electronic music. After high school, Cannon’s passion for music, combined with his love of story—especially the beautiful details of setting—led him to pursue a career composing music for film, tv, and video games. Cannon’s body of work includes musical scores for award-winning short films such as, “Muse” directed by Connor Rapp and “Borrowed Time” created by Tapeslate Productions, "Blind Faith" directed by Payton Maddox and Owen Caderet, as well as the short film, "Dating an Overthinker" by Tanner Peterson and Dayton Edwards, which is currently being shown at a variety of film festivals. He is currently working on music for video games that are still in production, and a plethora of personal projects. His motivation when composing music is his desire to move listeners emotionally, transporting them into an experience beyond listening. Cannon’s goal is to be a lifelong leaner who pushes himself to work hard and use the talents and abilities he’s been given for a higher purpose than simply mixing sounds. Inspired by composers such as Ludwig Göransson, Bear Mcreary, and John Williams, Cannon has created a unique sound, blending his deep love and awe of classical music with his compositional upbringing in electronic music. Some of Cannon’s greatest influences in his life include his pawpaw, Rich Gootee, who is a Grammy Award winning songwriter and champion in the Parkinson’s Disease community, and his uncle, Joey Modus, who died far too early, leaving a legacy as an international EDM producer and DJ. Cannon is currently working on music for short films, video games, content creators, and his own personal projects.

    paper Blind Faith

This is a DareDevil Fan film I had the honor of working on. I scored the music, recorded the dialogue, and did most of the sound design. I was primarily responsible for the complete audio experience of the film. I was given a modest budget for the score, which allowed me to get studio time and hire a cellist and a piano player for the project which was very exciting and really elevated the score.

    uniE603 Opyrion (Fantasy Soundtrack)
This is a score that I composed for my friend's D&D campaign. It is the main theme, meant to instill a sense of adventure and wonder. It features beautiful melodies with powerful orchestration, and a choir calling the adventurers to venture out into the world of Opyrion. music instrumental soundtrack
