My name is Sara Baysinger (they/them) and I write character-driven novels featuring queer and neurodiverse characters. I have written 12 books, 4 science fiction novels which have been published under my real name, and 2 fantasy novels which have been published under the pen name Maxine Rivers. I have also published 4 flash fiction pieces in the science fiction genre. I have been writing for over twenty years. My favorite books to read and write involve flawed characters who don't always make the right decisions even if their intentions are good. One of my favorite aspects of writing is seeing how characters connect as they navigate the plot of the story. I love getting lost in writing witty dialogue, as well as surprising the reader by having a character make an unexpected choice. Morally ambiguous characters and unreliable narrators are my favorites to write. I'm always looking to expand my skills to other mediums, such as video games.
