My 3rd year professional project at Abertay had me and a team of 7 other students including game designers and programmers come up with a game idea based on a brief submitted by Frontier Developments. This game became Rags & Richie a post-apocalyptical scrapyard shopkeep-em-up!! After the professional module was complete we submitted our game into DARE 2023 (Abertay’s annual game making competition) where we were selected as finalists. We developed the game for another few months to polish it as much as we could before we took it down to EGX 2023 and were able to show it off to the public and industry.

I was one of 3 artists on the team and was solely responsible for the 3D van asset that was used in the game, excluding the design which was created by our concept artist.

The game is predominantly 2D, meaning that I also did some illustration for it, namely the UI elements and a couple of the characters found in game.

This is a showreel of recent 3D animation work from my University projects.
For a Uni module I took audio from the episode of Doctor Who entitled ‘Blink’ and animated around that clip. I filmed my own reference for this one and have done so in every other project that I can since then. This animation as well as the reference side by side is shown to 1st and 2nd year students at Abertay as an example to use reference in animation.
For my final Uni project I utilised Abertay’s brand new motion capture suite, being the first person to complete a production using it.
I had Abertay’s Renaissance Martial Arts Society provide me with performances with which I imported into Maya and added exaggerated keyframe animation to assist with some visual flare!! These finished animations were then brought into Unreal Engine 5 and applied to Meta Human models.
