Selçuk Korku is a Turkish composer, pianist, and producer whose work blends classical craftsmanship, jazz harmony, and contemporary production with a strong focus on cinematic storytelling. He began studying piano and music theory at the age of seven and continued his education through conservatory programs specializing in classical piano, harmony, solfège, and both Western and Turkish music traditions. His academic journey led him to Sakarya State Conservatory, where he was admitted as the highest-ranked candidate in his class. During his early career, Korku founded the band Kzans, recording the group's debut album Siyah and releasing two music videos before pursuing an independent artistic path. Alongside his conservatory training, he expanded his studies into jazz performance, jazz harmony, recording technology, and music production, developing a musical language that balances technical sophistication with emotional accessibility. As a performer, he has appeared at distinguished venues including Pera Palace and Çırağan Palace Kempinski, presenting programs ranging from classical repertoire and jazz standards to original compositions. In 2015, Korku released his debut solo piano album, Angelus, establishing his voice as a composer of lyrical and atmospheric instrumental music. His compositions have since been featured in theatre productions, short films, and multidisciplinary artistic projects, where his interest in narrative and emotional expression found a natural home. Drawing inspiration from both European classical traditions and contemporary cinematic music, Korku creates emotionally driven works that emphasize atmosphere, melody, and storytelling. His approach combines expressive piano writing, orchestral textures, and modern production techniques to support and enhance visual narratives. Today, his primary focus is composing music for film, television, games, and visual media. Through his work, he seeks to create memorable musical experiences that deepen emotional connection and bring stories to life.
