At Shoal, I played a pivotal role as the UI/UX Designer, working on a B2C FinTech product focused on ethical and sustainable investments for the UK market. My primary responsibility was to design an intuitive user experience that made investing accessible and engaging for a diverse audience.
I crafted a seamless transaction section for the Shoal app from scratch, developing multiple interaction states and implementing UX writing tailored for clarity and engagement. This involved two key iterations: the initial version had a transaction detail screen accessible on tap, requiring two steps for users to access information. After conducting user testing, I proposed a more efficient design where the card expanded directly to reveal additional transaction details. This approach improved the navigation experience, helping users find what they needed twice as fast.
Additionally, I introduced a Figma version control system that improved communication with stakeholders, minimized confusion, and ensured design consistency across all project phases. This enhanced cross-functional collaboration and kept the design team aligned with Shoal’s business objectives.
